The passport is the official document for traveling outside and entering the United States. All travelers, regardless of age, are required to have a passport for international travel. It is important to check the dates on your passports. Your passport must be valid for a minimum of six months, when returning from international travel.
Recommend all United States citizens invest in purchasing a passport. Passport books, not passport card, are valid documents for travel. It is not necessary to pay of the passport card. Apply early as there is a backlog for processing times.
Please make a copies of your passport. Leave one at home and carry a copy with you at all time while traveling abroad. Please secure your passport in safes provided by hotels and cruise ships. Do not forget to remove your passport when departing your hotel or cruise ship.
